Vitanica Iron Extra provides holistic red blood cell support featuring more absorbable and gentler forms of iron alongside supportive herbs and vitamins — addressing the most common nutritional concern Dr. Tori Hudson encountered in women's health practice. Iron deficiency affects an estimated 20–50% of women of reproductive age, particularly those with heavy menstrual bleeding, plant-based diets, or high athletic demand, and the standard iron supplements are notoriously poorly tolerated due to gastrointestinal side effects including constipation, nausea, and cramping.

Iron Extra uses iron bisglycinate (the chelated form where iron is bound to glycine) — significantly better absorbed than inorganic iron salts with dramatically less GI irritation, because the chelated form bypasses the free iron that causes oxidative damage to gut mucosa. Vitamin C is included to further enhance iron absorption (vitamin C reduces iron to the more bioavailable ferrous state and forms absorbable iron-ascorbate complexes).
